Carolyn Roberts has been a woodwind specialist playing flute, clarinet, alto, tenor, and baritone saxophone, as well as bassoon for the past 46 years. 

A self-confessed Broadway Musical fanatic, Carolyn’s first musical theater experience was playing in the orchestra for a production of West Side Story at Troy High School in Fullerton, California in 1969. Since that time she has conducted productions of Pirates of Penzance, The Wizard of Oz, Snoopy and The Wiz, Babes in Toyland and Scrooge the Musical as well as performed in over 100 productions with 20 different theater companies all over California. 
Carolyn has performed throughout the bay area with the Livermore Symphony, The Valley Choral Society, Diablo Philharmonic, Livermore Opera, San Francisco Chamber Orchestra, Choral Society, Modesto Symphony, Santa Cruz Symphony, Camelia Symphony, Concord Pavilion Pops, The California Wind Orchestra, and the Pacific Symphony in Southern California on Clarinet, Flute, Bass Clarinet, Bassoon. 

Most recently in the last 10 years, Carolyn has played Alto Saxophone in the Jay Roberts Swingtime Orchestra.

Carolyn earned her bachelor’s degree in Music Education at CSU Fullerton in 1977, and is the Co-Founder of the American Renaissance Institute of Arts where she is currently the Music Instructor. She lives in Elk Grove with her husband Jay of 38 years and has 4 children.
